The rooms themselves were okay, but you can hear absolutely everything. Even from several doors down which made it hard to relax. The TVs in both my room and my friend’s room were basically unusable. The remotes didn’t work, and even after she asked for new batteries or a replacement remote, nothing improved. When I went back to my room and tried mine, it was the same issue. It felt like half the buttons didn’t respond at all.
It may seem like a small thing, but when you’re paying the prices this hotel charges. Especially when they nickel and dime you for everything, a working TV remote shouldn’t be too much to ask.
We also ordered room service, and while the man who delivered it was very kind, the food itself was extremely mediocre and wildly overpriced.
The biggest disappointment, though, was the service downstairs. Aside from the younger woman who helped us check out this afternoon (she was great), most of the staff were rude, dismissive, and acted incredibly pretentious. Definitely not the standard of hospitality you’d expect, especially coming home as a Houston native. They could really benefit from better customer service training.
Overall, it was a pretty disappointing experience.
