I previously stayed at Hotel Nelligan for a business trip where the rooms were spacious and luxurious, with fireplaces and comfortable seating. Based on that experience, I booked a three-night getaway expecting something similar. The room photos online also showed large rooms with seating, so I felt confident in my choice.
When we arrived, our room was very small and had nowhere to sit other than an office chair, which wasn’t ideal for a 3 day stay. After speaking with the front desk, the only option at first was an upgrade far outside our budget. We went back again to express our concerns and were eventually offered a larger room with a chair and ottoman, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, this room faced the interior of the building and had no daylight at all, which made the space feel dark and cave-like for the entire stay.
Aside from the room issues, we loved the hotel’s location, the service, and our dinner at Mama C. We just wish the room we booked had matched the photos and the level of comfort we expected, especially given the price.
