Felt Like a Horror Movie Set — I Left Early
Booked from April 21 to May 1, but I left on April 29 — not because I finished my trip early, but because staying any longer felt like being trapped in the set of a low-budget horror movie. I even paid for a new flight home just to get out.
The entire property needs serious attention. I was shown three rooms, and each had the same issues: carpets with a lingering musty smell, broken elevator and phone buttons, a busted door latch, and a shower that couldn’t decide where the water should go. The smell throughout the hotel made my allergies unbearable.
To be fair, the front desk staff was kind — one employee tried to help by offering a fourth room and even an upgrade, which I paid for. Sadly, no room could fix the fact that the building itself is in bad shape.
Hotels.com offered me $50, which I appreciated, but the real cost was my comfort, health, and an extra plane ticket home. I stayed for as long as I could tolerate, but no traveler should have to choose between safety and a reservation.
This could be a decent hotel with proper investment and care. Until then, I’d avoid it — unless you’re filming a remake of The Shining.
