Disappointed
I had a disappointing experience during my recent stay at Americas Best Inn & Suites in Gulf Shores Foley, Alabama. Although I had paid in full online, I was unexpectedly charged an additional $50 fee upon check-in, which was not communicated beforehand. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed cleanliness issues. There were visible grease or oil fingerprints on the headboard, crumbs on the floor, and a penny next to the bed—clear signs that the floor hadn't been vacuumed. The shower had a used bar of soap and a strand of hair, indicating it had not been properly cleaned either.I reported these concerns to the front desk, and the staff member contacted the manager. I requested clean bed linens, towels, and pillows, but was told to wait for someone from housekeeping. It took over an hour before two individuals came to address the issues. While one person cleaned the headboard, the other initially questioned my request for fresh bedding, which made me uncomfortable. Eventually, the linen was changed and the used soap was removed, but I did not see the shower being cleaned—so I ended up cleaning it myself.When we returned from dinner, I noticed the penny had been picked up, but crumbs were still present on the floor. While the staff did address some of the issues, the overall lack of cleanliness and professionalism left me very dissatisfied with my stay.
I would not recommend this hotel and will likely choose a different place in the future.
