The front desk staff gave me the wrong room twice, back-to-back. In the second room, the top lock was engaged, but because the room was completely dark, I didn’t think much of it and tried to unhook the lock. Someone inside suddenly ran to the door and slammed it shut, crushing my fingers.
My hand was throbbing and I was concerned about possible fractures, so I went to the ER instead of staying at the hotel. What is especially upsetting is that I was still charged for the room despite never staying there after this incident. The owner/staff took no accountability for what happened and did not meaningfully address the safety issue. Instead, the focus seemed to be on getting me into a third room as quickly as possible.
I was given two incorrect rooms, injured as a result of the second room, had to seek medical attention, and still ended up being charged. I expected the hotel to take responsibility for the situation and, at minimum, address the charge for a room I could no longer safely stay in
