We loved our stay, the food is a bit too Americanized for our liking, when going to Mexico we expected authentic food, but the overall experience with staff and services was wonderful, my kids and I enjoyed our stay, we just left today! We didnāt get to enjoy the beach due to high tides and severe sargassum but weāll have great memories of the resort.

We stayed in the double suite and had the all inclusive package. The suite had a nice kitchen and it was kept well appointed with drinks during our stay. Overall, the room was very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are a bit outdated with a very small bathroom with built in shower/tub. The bedrooms and living room were nicely decorated and comfortable.
The grounds are nicely maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Top notch on the staff we encountered. We didn't use the pools much but there are several to choose from with plenty of space for lounging and dining poolside. Beachside service is great, although the lounge chairs aren't very comfortable.
The dining is not great. As I mentioned, we had the all-inclusive package so we had the majority of our meals at the resort. We went to a couple of the restaurants that were considered more "high-end" and while the food was good it was hit or miss with the menu items. Overall, I'd give the food a 3 out of 5 stars.
We got massages at the spa which was a really nice experience. Again, exceptional staff and all five of us had a great experience at the spa. I had a massage from Monserrat and she was fantastic so I went to her a second time.
Lastly, they strongly encourage attendance at a presentation about membership in their time share program. Told it's 90 minutes and no pressure. We were there almost 2.5 hours and kept getting more offers after we repeatedly said we weren't interested.

If your not a member don't go here. Regular guest get treated like dirt. You get reservations only after member even if you call really early.
Apparently all inclusive doesn't mean all inclusive some foods are in clouded other aren't some drinks are included others are not.
If you want unfriendly and rude unacommadating staff here is the place to be!
If you want to wait half hour for a straw or 90 minutes plus for your dinner go here.
If you want to rind rubber bsnds, yes rubber bands in your soup definitely go here.
When we reported getting the rubber band in the soup guest service said we'll there is nothing he could do. We told him we will write a review about it. He response was go right ahead do what you have to do I can't stop you! In a highly unpleasant manner.
The soup was also never changed they let the guest and member continue to eat from the buffet pot.
Also they reported on there website that children stay free. They don't. I had to pay for my kids. I stayed fighting with them for over 3 hours until I just paid for the kids and went about my week.
Cancun was beautiful. Just don't stay at this hotel.
I will be back but never to this resort even if it was the last one standing. You will get better accommodations camping on the beach!

Quality has changed.
As usual, the staff was very kind and accommodating. they're working twice as hard because now that the Holiday Inn has taken over. there's half the amount of staff that there used to be to care for the guests. they no longer have a buffet every night, which was easy for those of us bringing children. It's hard to find things on a regular dinner menu at a restaurant for kids. There was only 2 people to cover the entire large pool to serve drinks pool side. So most times you had to go and get your own drink if you wanted one, Because those servers also served food! This was totally inappropriate for the venue and the amount of clientele. there have been no updates to the facility that I could see so it was a little disheartening that so many of the qualities that we enjoyed about going to Royal Sands are no longer there. You couple that with the horrible seaweed problem on the beaches where it's impossible to get in to the ocean, and there is simply no reason to return. Makes me very sad because this was one of our favorite places.!
