La Jolla is an absolutely beautiful place and this hotel has a grand view overlooking the ocean. Sadly, the hotel is so understaffed and neglected that we felt totally ripped off. We booked the corner suite for 3 people. The listing said there was a king size bed and a pull out couch. We checked into our room and discovered the pull out couch was unusable/screwed down (see pics). I went to the front desk to remedy the issue, they told me that I didn't read the room description and that it was actually a room for 2, not 3 even though I booked it for 3. They didn't have any roll away beds. The girl (only one on the premises) at the desk said she would call the manager who was out snorting coke or something and call me back. 2 hours later, I went back to talk to her because she didn’t call back. She offered another room for the same price. It was inferior. We decided to stay with our original corner suite. The girl said she would have someone bring blankets and pillows to our room. No one came. When we got to our room after dinner a few hours later, we still didn't have bedding for the couch. I went back to talk to the hostess and she got me the bedding herself, I carried up to my room and made the bed for my daughter. I felt bad for the girl at the desk because she was basically running the hotel on her own and really wasn't experienced at all. This place had ZERO concern for the customers and no personnel to take care of anything. Totally unprofessional. Stay elsewhere.
