This hotel’s front desk staff seems to have a culture of misleading their guests. I reserved a king room, but at check in they gave me a queen room without telling me about the switch. When I got to the room, I called the front desk to ask about the mistake, and they said they had no king rooms. After pushing a bit more, they found a king room, but only with a lot of complaining from the agent about having to do the work of finding it. Then I got to that room and found the heat didn’t work and the shower hadn’t been cleaned. At that point I gave up.
Marriotts used to be better quality than Courtyards, but the quality of the rooms in this hotel were not.
Also, when I booked my room I upgraded to the concierge level for access to the lounge, but it was not worth the cost. The opening hours were limited, the drinks were overpriced and the food was sparse and lower quality than the restaurant.
Overall, it seems Marriott is not what it used to be, and I’ll be avoiding it when I can based on my experiences with them over the past couple years.
