The shower diverter in my bath was not functioning. I didn't discover this until morning when I attempted to use the shower, around 6:00 am. I called the desk to have it fixed but was told no one from maintenance would be available till 8:00.
This was a business trip so this time frame wouldn't work for me. I was forced to use the tub, and, being an elderly person, getting in, and far worse, getting out was an ordeal. I slipped once and was very nearly injured.
To their credit, the hotel staff gave me 5000 Marriott points for my trouble, but this is the kind of maintenance issue I would think should be checked in every room before allowing anyone to stay in it. I would much prefer to pay full price and have everything work perfectly, than be awarded a concession because of a problem.
