Wonderful hotel stay in a gorgeous corner suite. Very comfortable, good bed, AWESOME showers with good water pressure, nice fridge and microwave, close to Van Andel and some bars/restaurants, and very safe (next door to the GRPD).
The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the free continental breakfast served in the lobby (not to be confused with the on site restaurant on the ground floor named Social Misfits, which is actually kind of cool-I recommend the espresso martini). The continental breakfast was gross. Sausage and eggs were ice cold, and there was some sort of quiche which had a funky aftertaste from whatever cheese was used. We are not expecting anything fancy with a free breakfast, but don’t make us gag and with iced food to boot.
Keeping in mind my little warning on the breakfast, however, I do recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again. I especially recommend the corner suite where you have more options for sprawling out with an awesome couch that has nice back support.
My thanks to the RI and Marriott. Job well done.
