I booked the room through Hotels.com and was very excited to stay at Commerce for the first time. The reason i booked the room is because Hotels.com put up a pop up msg as soon as I got on their page, that said 'We're not like the others, the price you pay INCLUDES TAXES AND FEES'....The 'fees' being the most important issue with regard to what happened when I got to the property.
By the way, not only did that initial pop up say any and all 'fees' as in 'resort fees' were included in the price they would quote me for the room, but when I clicked on Commerce Casino, there was a SECOND blurb that reminded me, 'what you see is what you pay', meaning I would not be charged any more than the price Hotels.com quoted me...But that was in fact not what happened when I got to Commerce. The check in clerk told me I would have to pay for 'resort fees'. I showed her AND I showed her manager the exact pop up msg that comes up saying 'fees' were guaranteed to be included in the price I paid booking the room, 'the price I saw was supposed to be what I paid' and I showed them both pop up msgs, and they both kept rudely asking me, 'didn't you read deeper and read the confirmation email?'
I shouldn't have had to explain over and over that the confirmation msg was just confirming I booked the room, I should have been able to count on no further costs. They took half the resort fees off, but it should have been all taken off. They tried to tell me I had to get it from Hotels.com
