We had a wonderful experience at Chateau Vaudreil. We chose it because we wanted to be near Montreal but not in the city in order to visit my daughter who lives there. We were really impressed with the attention to details, the cleanliness and the grounds of this impressive place. Most of the property is very well maintained, although some areas less so, such as the courts and beach area.
We were unable to use some of the amenities, such as the bikes and sports equipment as there was no attendant to support their use, and the weather wasn’t conducive. We were told they were understaffed. We did use the pool and hot tub, which are lovely, bright spaces. The hot tub water was too low so putting on the jets created unpleasant splashing, and the pool area was a little too warm to be comfortable.
Our room was large, very well appointed and with an extremely comfortable bed. It did adjoin to another, and the noise transfer was significant to the point we could hear conversation quite clearly. Despite the hotel not being overly busy, we were provided a room overlooking the parking lot.
The restaurant was expensive for the small portions of average quality food. There are other restaurants very close by that are much better options for eating. The hotel is fairly close to the town of Hudson which makes for a nice lakeside drive, and has some great eateries there.
Overall, we loved the place and plan to return when we’re back visiting our daughter. It’s a solid 4/5.
