I had a comfortable stay at the Radisson West Edmonton. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I appreciated the free parking and the smooth check-in and check-out process. One detail I really liked was that the front desk staff didn’t announce my room number out loud when handing me the key — a small but thoughtful touch for privacy.
However, I was disappointed to be told there would be a $35 charge for early check-in, even though rooms were available. I understand policies vary, but having worked in hotels across two countries, I’ve never seen this fee applied when a room is ready. It felt unnecessary and not very guest-friendly.
I didn’t use the pool (no hot tub) or the fitness centre, and I wasn’t informed where it was — though I didn’t ask. I also didn’t use the Wi-Fi, and breakfast wasn’t included, which was a bit of a downside. That said, the on-site restaurant was good, and the staff there were friendly.
Overall, it was a solid stay with a few areas for improvement.
