The hotel was delightful. It was tastefully furnished and exceptionally cosy, especially given the cold weather. The dining room was beautiful with the walls covered in interesting art with comfortable seating and well spaced tables.
Our room was smaller than the photos imply but the bed and furnishings were very comfortable.
The bathroom was spacious and modern. Everything was impeccably clean every day of our 4 night stay with free water and home made biscuits delivered to our room every evening.
The staff are exceptional from the chamber maids to the Restaurant and Reception. Everyone was very helpful.
Breakfast is expensive at 30 pounds, but the Continental breakfast is a bargain.
One issue might be the lack of an elevator, as the stairs to the rooms are a stone spiral staircase, but the staff delivers and picks up your luggage.
There is a lovely large terrace in front of this picturesque hotel which was covered in wisteria during our stay, where you can have afternoon tea, cocktails and dinner.
I would highly recommend this hotel, even though it is pricey, it is worth the splurge.
