The check-in process was pleasant; however, once we received the key and entered the room, I was very disappointed. The room was nothing like the pictures advertised online. I have stayed at many Wyndham Garden hotels in the past, and this experience did not meet the standard I am accustomed to.
It was evident that maintenance or renovation work is still ongoing on the 4th floor. There was visible water or leak damage throughout the hallway, and the carpet appeared very dingy and unkempt. Upon entering the room, there was blue painter’s tape left around the room that had not been removed, and the strong smell of paint was overwhelming.
The bathroom required better upkeep, as there was hair around the toilet and on the bathroom floor. When taking a shower, there was a very loud noise while the water was running, which stopped once the water was turned off.
The room was extremely hot upon arrival. The air conditioning should have been turned on beforehand, which may have helped reduce the paint odor. While the AC did eventually help somewhat, it did not fully resolve the issue.
As for the complimentary breakfast, the only item that was acceptable was the self-serve waffle station. The juice dispenser appeared to need cleaning or maintenance, as both the cranberry and orange juice came out lukewarm, which was not appealing.
Overall, this stay was disappointing, and I was not satisfied with the condition of the room or the amenities provided.
