The staff were all good, very helpful and obliging.
The hotel has obviously been a tremendous building over the years, but is in need of a lot of TLC. The lighting is poor and it would brighten the place up a bit if some appropriate modern lighting was installed.
Our bed was not that comfortable, but a couple of wines the second night made it a bit better. There is no lift in the hotel, so luggage has to be carried upstairs by hand. The shower is above the bath and not the best for elderly guests.
On the better side, the continental breakfast, whilst pretty basic, is ample.
Finally, would we stay at this hotel again - probably not, but it was certainly an experience on this particular stay.
