You get what you pay for. The value was good because this hotel was comparatively cheap but you dont get much.
The location was great, just two blocks south of Union Sq. Also two blocks north of BART station. Lots of restaurants nearby and very centrally located.
The room was also very clean, and the walls just gotten a new fresh layer of paint, which helped offset some negatives in other areas. It made the unit appear very clean and kinda new-ish. The sheets and pillows were also very new and clean. The bathroom tiles seemed new too.
However, the desk, fridge, etc were kinda old. There also was no dresser and the closer wasn't even deep enough to fit clotheshangers so if you need to hang clothes for a business meeting this place could be tricky. The safe was also planted right in the middle of the closet, making the closet almost entirely useless. I was there for a healthcare conference and really had nowhere to hang my suit/shirts because not only was the closet not deep enough such that you couldnt hang shirts (the edge of the clotheshanger hit the wall) but the safe made things even worse.
Also, the rooms are connected and there was a door between my neighbors room and mine with nearly a full inch between the bottom of the door and the floor so I could hear everything going on in the next room.
So, the value here is good if youre simply looking for a cheap place that is clean and centrally located. But if youre staying for business .......
