The Bourbon Orleans Hotel is in an excellent location in the French Quarter, close to restaurants, music, museums and Jackson Square.
We booked I ADA room with two queen beds for this year's French Quarter Fest after staying at the hotel last year, 360 days in advance. Unfortunately we did not receive an ADA room but instead received a first floor room on the noisy corner of Bourbon and St. Ann (Room 137). Occupants of the first floor rooms should note that garbage trucks daily interrupt your sleep precisely at 4 AM. The touted renovated room had a strange minimalist, possibly cheap, approach lacking a chair (instead there was a bench like a Motel 6 room), also missing from the room was the desk and desk chair and a table. Beware to anyone who wishes to work in this hotel room. No desk, no chairs, no tables, no outlets to charge your devices, etc. we actually had to char your phones on the floor because they removed the furniture from the rooms. One guest used his lap top on his bed with the bench as a seat.
Except for one employee, the staff was friendly and helpful but unable to accommodate our original reservation request. Management never responded to our request.
Though we have stayed at the Bourbon Orleans twice without any issues, the remodeling and current operations lack the advertised comfort and luxury of a good hotel. We will not return.
