This hotel is genuinely beautiful, full of character and boutique. I was there 7 nights and there were 3 weddings in that time, which perhaps underscores the quality of the venue. The staff are extraordinarily kind and accommodating. I could only speak English, but the bilingual reception staff were all delightful, kind and helpful in every way. Other staff could only speak Spanish, but their sincerity, generosity and patience in communication and anticipating your needs often without even prompting was truly unprecedented in my global travel. The only downside of this hotel is it can be challenging to obtain dinner after hours without venturing out. There is no restaurant at the hotel, and if you don't speak Spanish it can be challenging. But that is less a reflection on the hotel than it is on Asuncion as a whole, as you need to have a little Spanish (or courage!) to get by with English alone. The hotel is first class and I would not hesitate to stay there again.
