We were extremely disappointed in our stay. It took over an hour to check in due to the front desk, being unable to find our reservation and a mixup with rooms and room keys. The lobby was worn and tired with stained furniture, peeling wallpaper, and thread bare carpet. The hallways to the room were just as bad. The whole place had an extreme feeling of neglect. It felt dirty. Our room was on the first floor with a view of a pile of stone. It felt like we were sleeping in someone’s basement. The bathroom shower had a clump of hair in it left over from the last guest and the toilet seat was cracked and stained. The lampshades were broken and the lamps themselves sticky. The bed luckily felt clean, but we were disturbed all night by a high-pitched intermittent whirring noise that we think came from the mini fridge. In all honesty, we should not have stayed but we were afraid of losing our money. We chose a Holiday Inn express because we held them to a certain standard. After this experience, I do not think I will stay in one again.
