My husband and I always travel and stay at different hotels. What we’ve learned is that prepay and pay at property are two different policies. We were not aware of the pay at property policy that allowed for this hotel to charge before we checked in. Was not happy about it but talked to hotels.com and ok with the response. The manager was not very cheerful when greeting us. We got to our room and immediately knew we were not staying there. The odor was of old mildew, the sheets had stains and didn’t smell clean, the water was brown, the toilet did not work, as we had to place water in back of it to flush it. Managers response was that it was a different type of flushing system. We asked and received a different room that night. The reason for the 2 stars was for the over all experience, although my husband rated at 0 stars. The esthetics of the hotel was not worth the 5 star rating that was presented in the reviews when booking, otherwise we would not have stayed there. The managers responses throughout this experience was borderline professional. It was more robotic and not apologetic at all…. It was more of a it is what it is affect.
