Our stay at this Extended Stay America Suites was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived. We got in at 2AM and were surprised to learn that the front desk closes at 11:30 PM. There was no staff or security on-site, so we had to self check-in through a phone located outside the property.
We were a party of four and booked a room listed as accommodating four guests. Since rooms with two beds were unavailable, we chose the option with one queen bed and a sofa bed. Unfortunately, the sofa bed was only a twin—far too small for two people, and there were no linens provided for it in the room. When I called customer service, I was told there was nothing they could do because staff had already left and we would “have to figure it out for the night.”
The room itself was in terrible condition. The window was left open and the room was freezing, likely to air out the bad smell. The carpet had large black stains, the room smelled unpleasant, and even the towels and linens felt dirty. It did not feel clean or maintained at all.
Safety was also a major concern. There are no hallway cameras, and we saw people entering and leaving the building freely at all hours. Someone even knocked on our door at 2AM. With no staff or security present, we did not feel safe.
Overall, this was the worst hotel experience we’ve had. We would not stay here again or recommend it. Very disappointing, especially for Scottsdale.
