Great old historic hotel with great views of the park and local churches. About a 4 block walk to the train station. Good shopping
I booked this property even with mixed reviews, because it was important to me that I got a hotel within walking distance of the train station. The hotel entrance did not disappoint me. I had booked a suite to relax. What bothered me, which I why I gave this hotel a 3, was that for the price I was paying, they installed a small very noisy space heater, because none of the main heating system was working in the 300 sf double room suite. I turned it off before dinner and after dinner it was very cold. So I went to front desk if I could be moved to a heated room and was told I would have to wait till tomorrow. I didn't sleep well over the night. The space heater was noisy and then the rooms got to hot. Today I am in a different suite where the heating is working. My question is why sell one the most expensive rooms when the heat is not working, or why not move me the same night to any room and offer a cash discount for the inconvenience.
I do want to say that the evening dinner and the breakfast were very satisfactory. In moving to my new room, I noticed that the shower head was missing. Front desk advised me that on a monthly basis all shower faucets are removed and cleaned. If it wasn't for my cold suite on arrival, I would have ranked it a 5.
