Wished Hotels.com could have explained the destination fees more clearly when I booked this stay. I got to learn that the destination fees were charged DAILY. Obviously there was a price gap between the listed total amount on my booking page and the actual charge I eventually paid (thus, $70 more expensive than what we had expected). I have this screen shot captured and also communicated with a Hotels.com agent this discrepancy and my disappointment.
Meanwhile, the hotel was very clean, and when we were checking in, the front desk person was so kind. She upgraded our room, which was a pleasant surprise. Although we had some issues with the heat (the first night we slept cold), they fixed it next day when we raised this concern. We also enjoyed breakfast pretty much – the restaurant area was kept clean and the staff did a great job replenishing beverages and food promptly.
If you bring your car, please note that parking in Cambridge is very expensive. (Well, I already knew this as a former Cambridge resident.) The nearest garage to this hotel charges you $55 daily. We reserved a different parking spot at a cheaper rate, but had to walk to and from the garage about 10 minutes.
Oh, the hotel has laundry on site, operated by credit card. Very convenient!
