We expected not much at all for this very quick overnight (check-in at 10:15pm, check-out 7:15am). We were pleasantly surprised.
Yes, this extended stay motel is nothing much from the inside/outside, many things could be upgraded (e.g. very old electric hot plates, ancient microwave and fridge borderline cold, outdated furniture/carpeting).
However, our room was VERY clean - there was no trace of anything anywhere - not even dust. I’ve been in far more fancy/expensive hotels that were much less clean. No roaches, no rodents, no weird people. A slight unfresh smell in hallways, that’s all.
We had the quietest night: no noise whatsoever, the AC worked well despite its age, same for the shower. Bed was very comfortable too. Plenty towels for 2, very clean, and so were the sheets.
It is a very cheap hotel/motel, so don’t expect anything fancy - no toiletries, no coffee machine, no cooking equipment (if you want one you can pay extra). But for the price point, it’s honestly quite good.
Only hiccup: Motel 6 just acquired ESA (Extended Stay America), and they do NOT have ANY front desk or hotel staff 10pm-9am - we had no idea. We were EXTREMELY lucky to find the lovely, most dedicated and helpful Stephanie at 10:15pm to checkin - a long time ESA employee, who actually stays past her shift to make sure there are no issues, since Management has clearly not been great in figuring out stuff. Definitely, staffing is their #1 issue to fix, even before renovations.
