First Time Stay
My only complaint was that housekeeping cleans rooms every OTHER day. I never experienced that before and didn't know until after calling the front desk several times the Saturday of my stay and have no one pick up. When I came downstairs to tell them no one had cleaned my room, (this was 3pm), that's when I found out about this policy.
The rugs, although looking clean, definitely need a deep cleaning because the bottoms of my white socks were filthy and I was only there two nights and only wore them before bed.
Other than that, I found the hotel very nice.

Worst Motel stay ever
Terrible experience never again will i give you my hard earned ss money. No security cameras on 2nd floor i had someone at my door ay 10:30 knocking wrnt to look to see who would be out there and when i looked through the peep hole i saw a lady and a quick shadow and when i asked what they m needed whoever was bent over took there hand and covered the hole. I texted to the desk but no one came. Then when i went down this morning tto check out there were 3 other people there with complaints and rightly so. The beds were hard as rocks air conditioning was very poor. Somones dig popped all down the hall and my grandson stepped in it and went down and made them give him another room so they wouldn't have to smell it all night after he got himself cleaned up
Breakfast was even bad. You need better people running that place and get a security guard for hoodness sake. I deserve and demand a refund or this is going to the top huncho real soon.

Somewhat rundown
The staff was very friendly, especially Belle who greeted me at the front desk when I arrived. The room was clean and comfortable enough but there was a lot of humidity and everything felt a little damp. Overall, the hotel feels neglected and a bit rundown. There was a lot of debris strewn around on the outside and trash bins were overflowing.

We drove 7 hours with 4 kids in the car to get there and was looking forward to using the pool. It was 92 degrees outside and the pool was closed. There wasn't any water in it at all. There was no mention of this at all on their website or on Expedia. I use a pool for water therapy every day and was looking forward to using it on this hot day when we got there. Was offered points for my Hilton Rewards account but I needed that pool. My whole reason for booking this hotel. Also, my son had just got done with basic training in South Carolina and had to be at the base at Ft. Gregg Adams the next day, he was also looking forward to using the pool to relax before he reported for duty the next day.
The lady serving breakfast the next morning was super friendly and helpful. She was the best part of the visit. When I come to visit my son I will not be staying here again.

Staff was great. The Hotel is outdated and not well maintained. The pool was out of service and full of trash. Drug dealing inside the hotel rooms and parking lot. Parking for the hotel had furniture dumped in it and car parts. People sleeping in their cars in the hotel parking lot. I had an adjoining room and the people next to me kept knocking on the adjoining door trying to sell drugs. No amenities I. This hotel. Tv had no service, no pool available, no laundry, workout room has two pieces of equipment and side doors donāt lock. I paid almost $400 for a hotel that gave motel vibes. I also paid for a king shower room and was told all that was available was a handicap room. Terrible property

The receptionist was exceptional! She was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. She was very friendly and kind. The room was nice, but the beds were a little too firm. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Specifically booked hotel because of pool. When we got there the pool was not only closed, it was green and nasty. Bathroom wasnt stocked fully with towels. Behind the toilet was dirty and after showers the walls were dripping with yellow condensation. The movie we tried to watch kept going in and out. The only plus was the staff were nice.

Some minor changes needed
Not complaining but some small issues:
1 Only 1 trash receptacle in the room (Bathroom)

Disappointed customer due to false representation
Was VERY disappointed that this property advertised as āPet Friendlyā w/no indication in booking that that meant a $75 pet fee. I have an 11 yo 10 lb dog that has traveled w/me her entire life & I always stay in pet friendly hotels. The first time EVER I was asked for a fee upon registration that wasnāt stated prior to booking. It was midnight & was traveling w/daughter & 2 infant grandchildren in another room. I was asked at check in if I wanted to stay & pay the fee, or go elsewhere. Unfortunately was not an option w/the babies. Perhaps hold a security deposit in case of incidental damages. Complete money grab. I will not be staying at any Hampton Inn in the future with this egregious policy. As an aside, this is the first negative review I have ever left.

Not the Hamptonās Iām used to staying at.
I normally stay at the Hilton or their smaller hotels, (Tru,Hampton, etc). For the 1st time, I was disappointed with a Hampton Inn. Steer clear of this one because itās the equivalent of a Motel 6. Itās clean, the staff is super friendly but itās very dated! My a/c/heater unit was falling apart and didnāt work at all. The front desk offered me a new room but Iād already spread out by then. They must have the water set to a certain temp because my shower water was a step above lukewarm, and thatās after letting it run for 5 minutes. This place needs an interior facelift. The furniture was right out of the 1960s and rock hard. At least the bed was comfy. If I ever have to go to Petersburg again, Iāll drive a little further and stay in Colonial Heights.
