Some great things about this hotel: excellent gym, one of the best massages I’ve had, super breakfast, spacious room. Some slightly less positive things: room was quite dusty, bed was a little small, and a real bench mark of a quality hotel for me - are the towels big and fluffy? They were not!
The main negative for me though: we had an awful journey up the motorway, which was closed in both directions, meaning we missed our 20h30 table reservation for supper. We kept in touch with reception during our journey, and were told the kitchens would be shutting at 21hr (last orders at 20h45). We finally got there at 21:02, and were told we couldn’t have any food other than a somewhat limited sandwich or pizza room service selection. Honestly, we’d have thought there could have been a little bit of flexibility. We ended up getting a picnic from Sainsbury’s round the corner - not what we had envisaged for what was meant to be a special night.
Overall, plenty of positives, but some bits and bobs that really let things down.
