Waiting, freezing and separated!
Our rooms weren’t ready at check-in time and we waited over an hour for them to be ready. What made it even more frustrating is we called a hour before check-in time to ask if we could check in early. We were told the rooms weren’t cleaned yet but still hadn’t started when we arrived at check-in time The lobby is under renovation so the only place we could sit and wait was by the pool. The comfortable couches by the pool were wet so we tried relaxing on the non-cushioned lounge chairs. We were in Springfield for the family weekend at MSU visiting our daughter and had our other two daughters with us. We had all planned on taking a nap before going to the evening football game but now couldn’t do that because our rooms were being cleaned. This definitely affected the mood of everyone. After the game we were very tired and once we laid down we realized there was no comforter on our king size bed, only layers of sheets and one slightly thicker sheet/blanket. I was cold most of the night so I didn’t sleep great. Our girls had a separate room from us which we were originally told was close but later realized that while they were on the same floor they were in two different ends of the hotel. Our girls are all grown so there was no problem in that regard but would have liked to have them at least on the same side of the hotel in order to have a little more family time. Regarding the hour + wait for our room there was an apology but never any offer to give us a discount or anything.
