I had a very nice stay at this hotel. The staff/welcoming atmosphere were a big part of the reason why. There's also very good coffee roasted in-house available 24/7 in the lobby (it always seemed fresh and hot- as a night owl I really appreciate when coffee isn't dead/old by the evening hours.) Free wine hour daily is really low-key and a sweet perk.
The kitchenette in my room was useful and everything worked well. Toaster, dishes, wine glasses, coffee mugs, etc provided. All aspects of the room were very clean upon check-in. I did not use housekeeping but you can request it or new towels/supplies anytime.
The hotel has old downtown charm and furnishings and I loved that. The area is loud, and although it's much better with the windows closed, the weather was beautiful and I was hoping for some fresh air. However, it's a noisy corner due to people on the streets, traffic with cars blasting loud noise, and apartment dwellers violating noise codes at all hours. I wore earplugs for half my stay even with the windows closed, and definitely needed them while sleeping.
This is not the hotel's fault by any means, just mentioning it for anyone sensitive to noise. But location is also something the hotel has going for it - very central, close to the Pearl, NW 21st/23rd, eleven blocks from the river, and tons of easy transit options.
The gym is small but clean, quiet, and nice, and the decor and library added amazing character and charm to every day I was there.
