We checked in quite late, but the clerk got us checked in after a short delay and we went to our room. The parking for this room was across the parking lot, two unused handicap spaces were closest to our room.
The room was a bit spartan (only one nightstand, requiring us to roll up a chair to put our phone on as our only option). Power was completely unavailable on this side of the bed, a common problem with older properties. The cable TV was pretty bad, many channels only carried the audio, but no video.
It was weird to get to, we had to drive behind a Motel 6 to get to it.
None of these issues were all that important; if you're looking for the quality and amenities a Marriot, you should stay at the one near the airport for $360.
Most important, the room was very clean, new, nicely renovated and quiet. The blind completely blocked the light, and the A/C was good. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were clean and the bathroom was sparkling. We didn't try the breakfast, as we live in Las Cruces and went on home for breakfast. The entire property has been recently renovated, obviously at considerable expense, and it shows.
This property was an excellent value and we would definitely stay again if circumstances required us to stay overnight this close to home.
