I decided to check out the Columbus Inn on my most recent trip but I won't be returning there. Essentially, you have a hotel dating from the mid-90's which - while it is clean - it is what I consider to be extremely 'worn about the heels'. It is in severe need of a re-modeling. The carpet is very worn as are the beds and the room furniture. The breakfast is a joke - it is sugary cereals, a waffle-maker and batter and a few shrink-wrapped muffins. With the exception of one lady who was working on Friday evening, I would say the staff are not particularly welcoming. To add insult to injury, the last morning, I was there, I stopped by the breakfast room at 8:56 AM to see if I could at least get a banana but the hotel worker had already closed the breakfast down - 4 minutes before the 9AM shut off time. I will spend a little more money on another hotel on my next trip to Columbus. I would not recommend this hotel unless it was the last place in town available.
