My check in was not smooth. I received several messages via hotels.com that I confirm my arrival time which I indeed responded to with confirmation of 2pm arrival. The morning of my arrival, I asked the receptionist of my other hotel to call the numbers provided in the message for my arrival time since it seemed that my messages via hotels.com were not being read/received by the owner. However the owner did not answer and the agency listed reported that they no longer are responsible for this property. They did give me a different phone number for the owner which was incorrect. The receptionist helping was fortunately persistent and tried the first phone for owner again and communicated with her that I would arrive to property at 2’pm. Then when I arrived the owner told me “ I didn’t know your arrival time until this morning” so I am not sure why she does not utilize message system through your website for communication . It was very stressful and inconvenient . If my receptionist was not so persistent, I would have been locked out for unknowable amount of time. This is the second property I booked in Dubrovnik on your site that does not have a receptionist, is basically a home with extra rooms that are used for guests. This should be made more clear in your website because both were very bad experiences for me as far as check in and communication with the owner. I use an eSIM for my phone for internet use internationally however I am unable to make phone calls
