Unsafe and disappointing — avoid
At first, we thought Kekova Pansiyon was a charming, authentic family business. Unfortunately, it turned out to be very transactional — just another opportunistic tourist trap.
We were offered a private boat tour instead of the commercial ones. After only 1h40 on the water, we were dropped somewhere and told we’d be picked up later. Because of a language barrier, we understood that due to incoming wind, it was best to return before 18:30.
At 15:00 we called to be picked up. Fifteen minutes later, the wind had already gotten strong, making the return dangerous — especially as I am pregnant. When the owner arrived, instead of prioritizing safety, he said he didn’t want to wait for the wind, that we had called him (so it was “our choice”), and that this was not his only job. It was essentially take it or leave it.
My partner decided to go back with him while I stayed behind. Thankfully, the local café owner (who was the one who had warned me it was unsafe to go) kindly offered to take me back once the wind calmed down — otherwise, I would have been left waiting for hours with no safe way to return on my own.
The whole experience felt careless, unsafe, and entirely about making money rather than caring for guests.
