My family and I booked two rooms for a recent stay. We arrived late, around 1:00 am, and were looking forward to a shower and some rest. Instead, we were met with a series of problems that made our stay completely unacceptable.
The very first issue was the condition of the rooms. Both bathrooms were visibly dirty. The showers and toilet seats had what appeared to be light dirt and grime, so we spent 15 minutes cleaning each bathroom ourselves before we could use them.
The next morning, we discovered our second inconvenience. We were told at check-in that breakfast was served until 10:00 am, but when we went downstairs at 9:15 am, we were informed that all the breakfast had been cleared away at 8:00 am. While the employee at the front desk was apologetic and tried to find something for us, we ended up having to go out to eat.
Things only got worse. When we returned to our rooms later that day, we found that housekeeping had not come. The rooms were not cleaned, and we had no fresh towels. I had to go to the front desk, where the employee apologized and handed me a stack of clean towels to take back to the rooms myself.
The final and most frustrating issues occurred with the hotel facilities. The elevator was out of service, which was a significant inconvenience as I was traveling with six other people, including small children and luggage. We had no choice but to take the stairs. The stairwell was not only an eyesore but also smelled strongly of marijuana on every floor.
