Regarding a recent booking experience through Hotels.com. I have an extremely unpleasant experience.
At the time of booking, I was presented with two room options of the same type, one at a lower price and one at a higher price. I deliberately chose the higher-priced option, as the images shown clearly indicated a larger room. Having stayed at this hotel multiple times before, I am familiar with the room layouts and was confident that the image displayed corresponded to a larger (executive-style) room.
However, upon check-in, I was assigned a smaller standard room. The front desk staff informed me that I had not booked the larger room, but rather a standard room. This contradicts the impression created during the booking process, where the images displayed for the selected option showed a significantly larger room.
I subsequently contacted Hotels.com to explain the situation, but was informed that I had not booked the larger room. This response is extremely disappointing, as it does not address the core issue — the use of misleading or incorrect images during the booking process. And I still have the pictures of the room layout on my confirmation , it does prove that hotels.com used the wrong pictures.
It is clear that the images presented influenced my decision to pay a higher price. If the images shown were inaccurate or did not correspond to the actual room booked, this constitutes a misleading representation of the product / service
