We notified the hotel in advance of a late arrival after a 12-he drive. When we arrived in the early morning, the front desk was unattended. There was a note saying “10–15 minutes,” but after waiting over 20 minutes & calling the hotel twice with no answer, 2 men finally came out from a back room. One immediately left the building, & the other, who appeared disheveled, assisted us. He told us our reservation had been canceled due to our late arrival, despite our prior notice & the hotel clearly not being sold out. After some discussion, he reinstated the reservation but refused to add our second night, instructing us to return in the morning. Finding our room was also frustrating, we were pointed in the wrong direction twice after moving our car. The door showed signs of a prior break-in repair. The next morning, checking out & back in for the second night was another issue. Because the room was in my name but paid for with my fiancé’s card, he refused to proceed, citing a policy he could not produce. We had to cancel & rebook under my fiancé’s name & pay an additional $100 security deposit. The hallway carpets were heavily stained with bleach spots on every floor, & the overall hotel smell was pot & ethnic. The room itself was clean, & the pillows were soft. However, the bed was broke, room smelled musty, & the AC would not stay on high fan. There were urinal air fresheners in the elevator ceiling tiles, & it appeared employees live on-site. Oh & the fire alarm off at 7am 🙄
