We booked a room to celebrate my daughter’s birthday weekend because her wish was to stay at a hotel where she and a few friends could swim. After looking at options in Jonesboro, we chose what we believed would be one of the better hotels in the area.
Unfortunately, our experience with the pool was very disappointing. On the first night, the pool was closed and did not reopen until 9:00 p.m., and then it was shut down again about 15 minutes later. The next morning the girls were able to swim for about an hour before we stepped away to let others use the pool. When we returned later that evening after spending the day in town, the pool was closed again until 8:30 p.m., and once it reopened it was shut down again within about 30 minutes.
The engineer who came to address the issue was extremely helpful and took the time to explain the reasoning behind the closures, which we appreciated. However, given the price of the room and the fact that the pool was the main reason for our stay, we were still very dissatisfied.
It may also help to have staff monitor the pool area more closely. During our stay, we noticed several individuals using the pool who did not appear to have rooms at the hotel. Overall, we were disappointed with the inconsistency of the pool availability, especially since it was the main reason we booked the stay.
