There are 2 sides to this hotel.
Firstly, the good. On the whole, the staff were good. Hotel room lovely with great, easily controllable AC. Windows had blinds. Great shower. Gorgeous soft pillows. Not sure if you can request firm ones though. Bed linen seemed lovely quality. I believe there was ice machines and water dispensers on 1st floor but we were on 4th so didn't see/use it. Small fridge and safe in the room. Had breakfast for the discounted rate of £12 - was £15 at booking but we received an email a few days before offering for £12. You could also pay £12 upon checking in. Breakfast was lovely, if busy. Staff were doing well keeping tables turning over and selections topped up. There was a good selection of continental and hot choices. Few GF options as well.
Bad points - Parking. It is advertised as £15 first there first served, fair enough. It was full when we arrived and we asked about alternative parking and were directed to 'overflow' parking which was acutally the main surface parking for the TECA....which was £29. No discount for hotel guests. Big difference. Surely the hotel could organise a discounted rate such as what the Marriot at SECC has for the multi storey. This soured a what was otherwise, a pleasant stay.
We were there for a show at the P&J. They have security on the door at the end, only allowing hotel guests in, however, even with this, the queues at the bar were horrendous. More staff may have been in order.
