I am very disappointed in my recent trip that I planned for my girlfriend's birthday. First off, there was no cookie ready when we checked into the hotel. The receptionist told us that she burnt the batch.
We proceeded to wait in the lobby for over an hour and she never informed us when the cookies were done. We went up twice and asked and she said they weren't done. Finally, an hour later we saw her give the cookies to someone else.
It was ridiculous that she did not tell us that they were done when she knew we were waiting. This is one of your promotions that you advertise so you would think the staff would make sure they have everything in order.
This was not the level of service I was expecting from this caliber of a hotel. How rude to leave someone waiting especially when we were celebrating.
Also, the coffee room was disgusting with the plates from breakfast still sitting on the counter past 3:00. We didn't even want to enjoy our coffee in the room and proceeded to drink it in the lobby instead.
Definitely not what I expected from a 3+ star hotel, especially for a birthday trip. What a letdown that ruined out entire birthday celebration. I was expecting much better. I always remember Doubletrees being so much classier in the past.
