1. Smoke detector in our room started beeping at 5am, the kind of beep you hear every few seconds when the battery is low. I called the front desk. The staff person answering the phone laughed and said the engineer wouldn’t be in until later. No offer to find me another room, no attempt to accommodate us. So, I checked out and left. The whole point of a hotel is you are paying for a place to sleep. If I can’t sleep because of a beeping alarm, I didn’t get what I paid for. Very disappointed.
2. I prefer to take stairs instead of the elevator. Staff told me I could not take the stairs. I never heard of such a thing. Eventually, we worked out something and I was shown a stairway through the parking garage. That’s fine, don’t care that I had to go through a parking garage stairway. But, the stairway had spots filled with lumber and construction supplies.
