Got charged but didn’t stay
I originally booked this stay through hotels.com (or so I thought). When I got off the plane I realized that I never got a confirmation email (and there was nothing in the app). After trying to contact the hotel for an hour and repeatedly getting hung up on, and checking my email (including spam) & app again, I assumed I didn’t complete my booking and rebooked at another holiday inn express in town (this one was now fully booked). The next morning when I checked my email I had a message from hotels.com asking how my check in was at this hotel. I called the hotel again (got through) and explained the situation. They said they did not have a booking in my name. I also contacted hotels.com to make sure I wasn’t getting charged for 2 hotels. They told me they would work it out. I just got an email saying the hotel manager was not going to work it out an I was getting charged anyway, even though according to their staff member I did not have a reservation. So now the cost of my lodging for the weekend has doubled.
