Upon arrival, I saw the front desk staff being rude to a cleaning lady. She was there with her your child and looked like she wanted to go home for the day. The front desk staff, which could’ve been the manager, was trying to get her to clean the lobby, but she said no (it didn’t seem like she knew English well). This went back and forth a few times and he finally gave him and seemed irritated then continued to check me in.
We drove through the parking lot could smell weed, and noticed crackheads and prostitutes hanging around their cars and walking about. This hotel is not family friendly at all , but I didn’t know and was there with my infant child, and another family member on vacation. You would also hear people roaming about in the middle of the night.
Not only that, we found a decent sized cockroach in our room and it was still alive. It’s was too late to leave and find another hotel for the night, so I ended up having to kill it and inspect the rest of the room. We ended up keeping the lights throughout the night so they wouldn’t come out while we were sleeping. We originally planned to take advantage of the free breakfast, but after finding the cockroach we were disgusted.
I booked this hotel due to its affordability and proximity to Old Town Sacramento, but was very disappointed. Front desk was rude, a cockroach was in our room, and crackheads, prostitutes and homeless were roaming everywhere including outside the property. Would not recommend with families.
