The parking situation was very confusing and frustrating, especially in the dark. A single small sign pointing to the entrance off the street, then all the parking spots at check-in were full but nothing indicates that's the place to park, so I kept going past, but the road ends in signs saying prohibited, no parking, etc. I tried to go in the parking garage, but nope, a keycard is required. Put it it in reverse, then had to drive the wrong way down the one-way road to get back to a space that had opened up at the check-in parking.
Check-in was great, the staff member there was warm, friendly, and positive, in spite of a bit of a line.
The stay was fine, breakfast was great (which is the reason I chose this hotel). But the checkout line this morning was insane and they had only one employee. I even went back up to my room to try and use "express checkout", but it just rang and rang. Back to the 20-person line downstairs. The whole time waiting in line I'm wondering if I NEED to be in this line, but sure enough, since I'm leaving my car for the day while at the conference, they have to give me a DIFFERENT key card so I can get my car later.
I understand this was a unique situation, with all of us here for a conference, but is this not a conference center hotel? You should be well prepared and staffed for this. At the very least, better signage and a sign in the lobby about whether or not you can drop your key and leave, would've helped immensely.
