My reasoning regarding my overall stay at this location is due to the conditions of this hotel. Upon check in we were greeted, however; I believe their system during check in wasn’t working or appeared to be down. Another clerk noticed, we were still waiting to be checked in so she proceeded to complete our check in transaction. Our room was on the 7th floor, we entered our room always with expectations of cleanliness of room, bathrooms, aesthetics, etc. This Marriott is much older than what I realized. Beds and mattresses are old, mattresses are so old they sink in the middle as you enter bed to lay down or to sleep. The chair in room is so old, it looked as if this chair was donated from Goodwill or maybe it needs to be donated to Goodwill. The light fixtures in the restroom has rust specks around it. The sink in the bathroom was clogged and wouldn’t drain thoroughly as you brush your teeth. There was a stain on the curtain. Glass from outside very dirty. TV remote either needed batteries or just didn’t work at all. Honestly, booking this hotel was an oversight for me as I truly thought I was booking with J W Marriott on Westheimer not Houston Marriott West Loop S by the Galleria. I was in town for a concert. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone coming into town for business, family trip, etc. Pricey and Old! The charge for our stay was $414.00 a night. We stayed at this location for 2 nights. Price gauging for sure! Not worth it!
