The positives of our stay were that the staff were very kind and helpful, and the hotel was surprisingly clean. Even the corners of the rooms and weird little ledges on the furniture were spotless. It was genuinely impressive. And the lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas. It reminded me of the grand art deco hotel lobbies in NYC.
The negatives are that beyond the friendly service and clean spaces, this hotel doesn’t consider guest conveniences. There aren’t a lot of mid range restaurants around this hotel. There are mostly all either crazy pricey chains or sketchy convenience type places. The hotel advertises several on site restaurants and a coffee shop, but the coffee shop closes early afternoon and when we were there, the main restaurant was closed for a private function. We ended up having to order Door Dash because the other on site restaurant was super small and just wasn’t meant to handle the number of guests trying to eat. It was terrible judgment on the part of management to close the main restaurant on a Saturday evening. It’s just horribly inconsiderate of the guests. And to have no good options for a cup of coffee beyond a questionable room Keurig just doesn’t exude good guest experience.
There was also a wedding reception on the floor above us, and the music was so loud until 11:00 that our floor was actually vibrating. The staff was great about taking care of us and offered us a room switch, but guests should never be placed below a loud event like that
