Hotel was okay, but it didn’t meet my expectations given the price point setting and reputation.
Service was inconsistent. While some staff members were friendly, overall interactions were not warm across the front desk, bar, and restaurant. The service also had a different feel from the very accommodating, welcoming interactions I’ve experienced at other hotels in the area and the Dominican Republic. At the beach, service felt particularly inattentive. We spent time seated there and no one came over to check if we wanted to order anything.
One interaction in particular stood out. I went to the bar to order two piña coladas and then sat at a table in the common area by the bar to enjoy them. The space was mostly empty, with several empty large tables. A waiter approached and told us we couldn’t sit there because we were only two people. I explained that we were just finishing our drinks and would happily move if the table was needed, but he responded with visible attitude, rolled his eyes, and walked away. It felt unnecessarily rude and left a negative impression.
Breakfast was very good, with lots of tasty options. The room was just okay—clean, but somewhat small and a bit cramped for the price. There’s also no door on the shower, which faces the bedroom and can feel awkward if you’re not traveling with a significant other.
The beach setup was also somewhat limited, with only a few loungers on the sand, which didn’t seem sufficient for the number of guests.
