One of Paris’s best-loved areas, the bohemian hilltop village of Montmartre offers winding streets, portrait artists on Place du Tertre, the wedding-cake basilica of Sacré-Coeur and extensive city views. Cafés and late-night cabarets add to the romance. The multicultural Goutte d’Or neighbourhood around Barbès-Rochechouart Métro has street markets and ethnic shops. St-Ouen flea market is a popular weekend attraction.

Gostei bastante! Leia mais

"Quality - Price was perfect"
We were looking an easy accessible hotel by car. Hotel Iliade Paris has a parking garage nearby. For 26 € we could park our big stationwagon for 24h. Besides that, it was only a 20 min walk to the Sacre Coeur! Our room looked overall very neat and clean. The bedlinen felt wonderfull and was supercrisp and clean. We had an ambilight tv in our room. The […] only minor points were some undiscribable spots in the carpet (but they were in the corner of the room) and the supersmall elevator to the 7th floor (but honestly, I found it rather cute). If your looking for a place to sleep and you're coming by car, this is the place for a reasonable price!! Leia mais

"a week in paris"
Friendly and very helpfull staff. Clean rooms. Nice and affordable hotel.
"Very helpful hotel staff!"
The best part of this hotel were the staff. They really went out of their way to help us in any situation. On the last day I needed a cab to the train station and the woman persisted for 20 minutes until she found me one. This is VERY close to the Metro station which is another huge plus. The breakfast was OK if not great, the rooms were adequate if […] a bit small, the beds were OK (twins in our room). The price was competitive for Paris. I would stay there again. Leia mais
"small but nice"
room was quite small but since I don't walk in my sleep it served me very well. Being close to the Metro made it easy to get to other locations, sites. they served a good breakfast. I'd stay there again.
"Hotel IIiad Paris XVIII"
Good hotel, good service, great location and very helpful staff.
"Hotel Iliade Paris XVIII"
The 18th arrondisement is a "colorful" area of Paris. Seasoned travelers who are looking for a good rate will find the Iliade to be most adequate. I don't tend to write reviews, but i want to acknowledge their great front desk person. We were there for 9 nine days; she was very helpful, polite and professional (not just with us - I overheard a phone […] conversation as she helped a guest discuss lost luggage options with the airline). When we asked, she found us another room as soon as one opened up (with the heat this summer, we had to open the window and the street noise was a bit much). It's very convenient to a Metro stop, and a McDonald's with free wifi. The one down side was no wifi in the hotel, and their guest computer was out of service. Housekeeping staff was polite and efficient. Leia mais
"Bad Neighborhood"
My mother and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Although the quality was somewhat decent in comparison to the price, the neighborhood the hotel resides in is horrible. It's a very bad area of the city and I felt very uncomfortable and almost scared for my life. It reminded me of North St. Louis. First impressions are always lasting and there were […] two pick-pockets within the first two days we were in Paris, each at the metro station close by. We chose this hotel for the convenience of the metro and easy access to public transportation. The metro is just down the street, but had I known what type of area we would be staying in, I would not have booked. As far as the hotel itself, the staff were very friendly and were willing to answer any of our questions. There is no wifi at the hotel, so you have to use the wifi from the McDonald's down the street, however, I was too afraid of the area to stay out anytime past dark. There is a bar/club directly across the hotel and late at night there's music blaring and people shouting and hollering, so sleeping was an issue at times. The hotel itself was clean, as well as our room, however they were very small. There was no air conditioning, so we had the fan running every night but it still did not cool us down very much. The elevator says it can fit 3 people, but with luggage, it only fits 1. It is a very tight squeeze. Breakfast is not included and we never chose to stay for it, so I cannot comment on the food. All in all we had a place to stay, however, I would have been much happier closer to the city within the better areas of Paris. Leia mais

"Hotel Iliade- Things are not what they seem"
My boyfriend and I are young budget travelers and we were looking for modest accomodations for our stay in Paris. The Hotel Iliade's rooms look nothing like the staged pictures presented. Our room had dirty walls, dirty carpets, and no comforters on the beds like the pictures show. It was nothing like we expected and even on our tight budget we decided […] we were not comfortable sleeping there that night and ran to the nearest 4 star hotel with vacancies. The hotel is the last stop on its line on the Paris Metro and about a 20+ min train ride from the main attractions in Paris. Previous posts about the neighborhood are correct and I am postive as tourists we would not have been comfortable walking back at night. If you are looking for modest and inexpensive accomodations that are clean, this is not the establishment. I am very disappointed in this hotel and would never recommend it to anyone Leia mais
"Finally... a cheap hotel in Paris!"
As others have said, this hotel is a great choice for budget travellers. The room is fairly small, but was clean and tidy. Again, ensuite was small, but functional and clean. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is excellent in that it is literally a minute walk to the nearest metro, although it is on the outskirts […] of the Paris metro so it does take 15 min or so to get into the city centre. The only problem we encountered during our stay was that the hotel did not have wireless (i think the reeptionist said they were having problems with it), but she did suggest going to McDonalds (right by the Metro) to use their free wifi, which we did, and it was fine. All in all, I would totally recommend this hotel if you want to save a bit of cash to spend on doing fun things in Paris, rather than blowing most of your budget on a pricey inner city hotel! "Not Pleasent"
I believe the satff are only positive point in this hotel. Not a pleasent stay at all. The staff were friendly, specially I would like to thanks Cathie, the lady who tried to improve some of the problems. Location is not too far from the city center, but realy not pleasent vicinity! It is just like a bazar in the middle of a third world countryt! Don't […] believe it is Paris. Internet was not working. My room did not have a bath curtain! I asked to fix it, but it was not possible since its bar was broken. TV just got two channels! The hair dryer was broken and didn't work! I was looking for hair dryer 3 days (out of 4). Seems just one extra available for the whole guests!! Room service did not well. Not a pleasent saty at all. .. Leia mais
"Comfortable and Clean"
The hotel is in an interesting area. Some would say not where they would like to be. "A clean place to lay your head"
The selling point of this hotel isn't its amenities. What you do get is a clean room with a private bath, a friendly and helpful staff and a metro station that is practically right outside your door. This is the Cligancourt neighborhood which strictly speaking into Montmarte, but I jogged to the Sacre Coeur almost every morning and it only took might […] about 15mins. If you're looking for a glitzy lobby and a doorman, this isn't the hotel for you. But if you're in Paris to see the city, not the inside of your hotel, this is a decent place for a good price. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to my friends and family. Leia mais
"Covers the basics"
You will have a clean bed to sleep in, in a hotel steps away from a subway station. It covers all the essentials but it is an average hotel. The walls are paper thin, the air in my bedroom had me coughing a few times and the "free internet in public areas" is not working. I got what I paid for without horror stories. Nothing special.
"Hotel LLiade Paris"
Staff is great and very helpful. The hotel surrounding area is a bit dirt but as as woman travelling alone and used with London areas I didin't feel unsecure besides the not so clean and a bit dark neighbourhood. The hotel is simple and and old, but for the price I paid it was great: very friendly and helpful staff at all times, the room very confy […] and clean. For the price of a hostel you have your shower and toilet in your room with TV (just two channels, something in french and BBC World News). I recommend this hotel if you want something cheap and is not fussy with the bad points. Leia mais
"Good and Bad"
GOOD: price - awesome rate; location - 100 meters from Port de Clignancourt metro stop; staff - friendly, courtious and responsive; room - not a high end hotel, but small room was comfortable, clean, and adequate as a place to rest after long days; neighborhood amenities - McDonald's and KFC on corner by Metro, supermarket between hotel and Metro, overall […] quiet multi-ethnic neighborhood. BAD: noise - room 15 overlooked street and got lots of traffic and bar noise (one across street), but quieted quickly after midnight, interior building noise was noted room to room and early (4am) lobby cleaning. Different room might have helped, but overall did not distract from joy of trip - would stay here again in different room. Wife says bars and men hanging outside would have left her uncomfortable if not with me at night. Leia mais

"Hotel staff is friendly and location is convenient"
Hotel staff is friendly and location is convenient, but the hotel needs maintenance and neighborhood can be somewhat rough for some people. If you're on a budget and have no problem with a lively and very diverse neighborhood, this hotel is more than OK.
"Hotel Illiade Paris XVIII in Paris--Near Metro"
The location was superb as the Metro station was just down the street. The cost of the hotel was exceedingly reasonable for Paris. The room was very clean and just big enough to be comfortable. Continental breakfasts were included in the price of the room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a hotel room at a reasonable price with a very […] convenient access to the Metro. "Don't expect 5 star hotel. Very close to the metro"
My wife and I recently stayed at Hotel Iliade Paris XVIII for 4 nights, on September 3-7. The hotel itself was clean for the most part. The elevator was very tiny. It hardly fits two people without any luggage. When we were checking in and out of the hotel, we had to take two trips in the elevator, first I went with my luggage, and then my wife with […] her luggage. The room was surprisingly clean, but very small. We got two twin beds, and that what I recommend for two people. Don't get one queen bed, because it will be very uncomfortable stay. The shower was the worst part of our room. It is very small stand up shower with a curtain. It's so small that curtain kept sticking to my body while I was taking a shower. The curtain drips water on the bathroom floor, and if you are not careful, you will have a puddle on the bathroom floor by the time you are done taking a shower. I just used one of the towels to clean the puddle. There is very little shelf above the sink in the bathroom, for hygiene items. But, it was not enough to hold all of your hygiene items. The hotel staff was friendly and courtieous. All of them speak little bit of English. My wife wanted me to borrow iron from the front desk, since there are no irons or ironing boards in the room. So, I went every morning and asked them for iron. Sometimes they gave me just the iron, and sometimes they gave me iron and ironing board. Checking in and out was very easy, since we already prepaid through hotels.com. Room service does pretty good job cleaning rooms, but they come early sometimes, around 9-10am. This can be a little too early for people. The neighboorhood where the hotel is located is kinda sketchy. But, we usually got back to the hotel around 1am, and we felt safe walking around in that neighboorhood. There is a lot of arabic fast food restaurants in that neighboorhood. If you want to experience true french neighborhood, this is not the neighborhood for you. One morning we saw a police car that pulled up to Leia mais

When I travel alone, I look for economy and this hotel has what I generally look for: price with relative cleanliness/comfort. But I wouldn't think of bringing my wife here. My experience there was not good. I'm sure that the hotel is more pleasant during the colder season, but I stayed there 2 hot summer nights. the hotel has no AC so you're forced […] to open the windows. The street below was teeming with people talking/drinking - much too noisy to get any sleep before 2:00 AM! so, yes i would stay there again - after all, it's a great price - but only during the winter when the windows are shut and people do their partying inside. Close to Metro station. Room very tiny with 1 window--noisy area. room clean, hotel shows age. Market across street was handy. OK for 1 or 2 night stay, especially if on budget.
"Hotel Iliade, Paris 18th"
The hotel was fine. It's no palace, but is everything you expect in this price range. The shower and room were clean, and the room was quiet, facing away from the street; those are the only two things I look for in a budget hotel. The location's fantastic, moments from the metro station, at the end of the 4 line. You can get all over Paris very easily. The […] 18th isn't the smartest area of Paris, but you can find everything you need within a short walk. I have no complaints, but I do feel compelled to mention that the Iliade has the smallest elevator I've ever seen, just big enough for one man and his suitcase. Leia mais

Th hotel was close to the metro which made the whole of Paris minutes away. The room and shower room were small, but clean and adequate for our needs. The staff were friendly and helpful and didn't mind me practicing my french on them. Value for money.
"Low price = low service?"
As I said in my previous review on this hotel (note that we had 3 separate reservations -- stayed here, then went to Normandy, back to this hotel, off to Amsterdam, then were suposed to come back to this hotel for a third leg).....there were problems with our shower that they didn't even attempt to fix, but rather only made worse by taking our shower […] head away and us not being able to use it at all, and having to wait for a new room the next day. Because of this, we ended up cancelling our third reservation at this hotel and bookign somewhere else. Other than that, the hotel was as expected for the price and the area it was located in. But we were not going to risk such a problem again with them. Leia mais
"You get what you pay for."
Overall, this is not a bad hotel. But it's located in an area that many people might consider unpleasing. It was fine for us. About a 15 minutes subway ride to the center of Paris. The rooms were small (to be expected) as was the bathroom and shower. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. The staff was generally very friendly and helpful, except for […] the incident where our shower completely stopped working (the shower head basically was falling off and needed repair) and rather than them doing something about (caling in a plumber or someone else who could fix it), they simply TOOK AWAY our showerhead and didn't give us a new one. We had to wait until the next day to take a new room. It was impossible to shower during this time. Gross. Other than that, everything was fine and as expected for a room of this cost. There was a great italian restuarant just down the street - we went there twice and would have gone more had we the time. Leia mais
