A nice hotel in the middle of the town. We had 2 rooms (identical) one had good air con, the other was poor….. leading to a bad nights sleep. Thankfully our children slept better in their room. We ate in the restaurant one evening, and the food was very good (compliments to the chef)…. Service was a little hit and miss, but there were only 2 serving staff on and the restaurant was busy (we waited over half an hour after finishing and had to go and ask about the bill). We reserved parking, but be aware, there is space for about 5/6 cars in the sheltered car park and if other vehicles are already in there, it is really tight! I really struggled with a long estate car and almost gave up, but the staff obviously saw me struggling on the camera so they removed about 3 of their cars, which made it so much easier, so respect to them for that. All in all it was a pleasant stay, but considering it is a 4 Star hotel, we just found little things like the air con, decorators painting the corridor walls, 6/7 staff all having a cigarette break at the back of the hotel while I was loading up our car and just a bit of tired feel about the place. Maybe it’s just me being very English….. but we stayed in 3 star hotels during our stay we would gladly return to with better air con and were much better value for money, this was comfortably our most expensive hotel stay but didn’t think it justified the extra we paid when compared to others.
