I'm a stickler for bathroom cleanliness and it was clean but the floor definitely needed a re-grout and seal (did not feel comfortable walking barefoot in there). Otherwise, nice hotel. Helpful, friendly staff. Great location (we were there to visit the St Louis Art Museum in Forest Park, plus it was only a couple of blocks from some quaint neighborhoods […] for a quiet evening stroll). Room is showing it's age bit overall fine.

The location of this hotel was perfect-terrific neighborhood for walking and restaurants and a short drive time to great shopping in Clayton and University City. The hotel staff was very responsive to our requests/needs.The breakfast buffet was excellent. Indoor parking added to the wonderful amenities.

First let me say that I have a background in the hospitality industry and have owned several lodging properties over the past 20 years. We booked a room at the Crowne Plaza in Clayton, Missouri with short notice through Hotels.com. Our reservation was based on information on Hotels.com web site that rated the property at 3.9 out of 5 stars. We saw a […] few negative comments suggesting that the property was being remodeled so we understood that the property was older but appeared to have some rooms that had been remodeled. As such, we requested a remodeled room and were placed in room 815. Check-in process was swift and handled well. Parking is good in the adjacent parking strucutre. When we reached the room, our pleasant experience ended. Room was not well maintained and had significant maintenance isssues including wall paper that was falling off he walls, HVAC unit with the door falling off, thermostat that was falling off the wall, paint on the carpet and cove base, dated furnishings that were scuffed and window coverings that were visibly dust covered. Further, the room had a heavy perfume odor that was clearly intended to cover whatever the odor was in the room. Since we were traveling withour teenage daughter, we requested a roll-away which was promptly delivered. However, it was in poor condition and clearly beyond its economic life. Rollaway mattress was lumpy and I could feel the springs coming through the cover. Our reservation was for 3 persons, there were only two bath towels...no bid deal. We requested additional towels that were delivered after we left the room for dinner. Towels were thrown on the bed and were stained and ragged. I am not a premadonna and it takes a good deal to get me to complain but I expected more from Crowne Plaza. This property should be directly competing with the Omni and Ritz Carlton that are comparably priced. We stayed 3 nights and the bathroom floor was not swept either day. (we dropped a soap wrapper under the sink and it remained there the whole time.

a very nice experience for our short stay..perfect location, many fine choices of casual or formal restaurants located in walking distance and easy accessibility, exceptionally nice room, very comfortable beds and linens, nice details, over all very very positive. would stay again on our next St.Louis visit

The room was better than a previous stay, but you have to get an execuitive room just to get that which was a bit pricey in my opinion. Anyway the breakfast is great that comes with it and the rooms are much cleaner and nicer than the regular rooms.

Very reasonable price and full service too. Free wireless internet everywhere, complimentary parking and breakfast, easy access to highways, what else could you want?

We stayed here for a business trip. The event was at a nearby hotel, but we stayed here because it was a little less money. Compared to what we would have paid at the other hotel. It is good enough that we would use again for business trip.

I stayed here before and was in a better room on the 6th floor, but this go around the 3rd floor rooms were really older. They were doing construction to the floor where we could not get to the garage and had to take a ride around the front. The breakfast was excellent and they also had a decent dinner menu. Room was great- good sixe, great bed and the in room coffee was also good. A little confusing getting aroundthe hallways and parking deck etc.... but everyone working there was nice and helpful.

What a lovely hotel. I wanted to be within walking distance to the Busch Stadium however, this hotel was not. Surprisingly, there was a metro line within walking distance that delivered me right in front of the stadium. I was thrilled. I would stay there again.

The hotel is located among office buildings, and the neighborhood becomes a ghost town after 5 pm. There is one block of trendy, local restaurants about four blocks from the hotel, but you have to know where to look.

The front desk personnel were great. Very friendly and helpful. The valet guy had me give him $14 cash since I was staying one night and let me park my car out front. This saved me from paying the $19 to the hotel, buy felt kind of seedy. The restaurant was dirty, but the service was great. The breakfast buffet was average at best. The room was comfortable […] but the bathtub didn't drain. Seems like they need some updating. For the money, I would not stay there again. Leia mais

Convenient location and many great restaurants to choose from. Front desk staff pleasant and helpful upon arrival. Rooms a touch small but not bad. Lots of counter space in bathroom! And roomy bath tub.

The hotel is a little dated, but rooms are comfortable with great pillows and comfortable clean beds and bedding. The breakfast staff was not good at all. The "hostess" and the "waite"r didn't look me in the eye and ran around the place without acknowledging us, but finally I got a cook to take my order! The Hotel was fine like all the hotels in the Holiday Inn brand. I did experience difficulties with late check out.. It was my understanding that a Priority Club member received late check outs as a perk for being a member and I had to ask 3 times and continued to receive the answer that I had to ask the Shift Manager the next morning to which I could […] never seem to be on the same schedule with. I did end up getting the late check out but it wasnt without it being a stressfull situation. Aside from that the staff was fine and the accomodations were great. I would reccommend. Leia mais

King size bed was jammed in so person on right had 6 inches next to bed to get in. No room for night stand next to bed. I use CPAP and it had to sit partially under bed. Very poor set up. Had plenty of room on other side to move things over.

Comfortable room, helpful staff and good meal down the street at J Bucks. Breakfast was good, and the server gave me a coupon to comp it, even though I dont think it was included with the Hotels.com rate. Free shuttle from the airport which arrived within 10 minutes, even though its a fair distance from the airport. Would definately stay here again. Bathroom […] was a little neglected. Leia mais

An older hotel, but everything was fine. One elevator was out of service during both nights of my stay, making it less convenient. Housekeeping had obviously not cleaned behind the refrigerator and other harder to reach places in some time. The staff was great, very helpful.

Our night stay at the crown plaza was an enjoyable one. The hotel could use some updating but the rooms were clean and the bed was very very comfortable. Our room was on the fourth floor and we could hear the buses stopping and starting from the street below. It didn't bother me much but I am an early bird. I could see where this could be a problem […] if you are a light sleeper and were looking to sleep in. The front desk attendants were very nice and professional along with all the other staff as well. The hotel has a great location, within walking distance to many restaurants, cafes, and bars. Don't look for anything extravagant here but crown is a nice and convenient hotel if looking to stay in the clayton area. Leia mais

I decided to spend a few extra dollars to stay at what appeared to be a slightly nicer hotel than the standard Courtyard by Marriot or Hampton Inn, but instead got an old hotel that needs mantaince and upgrades. The lobby is nice (as you see in the pictures) and the room looks nice. But the air conditioner had a warning sign that it would freeze over […] if you set it below 72. There was no way to open the window and you couldn't set the air conditioner to vent or fan so we were stuck with a stuffy room with no moving air. The "mini-bar" fridge was completely empty and didn't work. The elevator and hallways appeared shabby and needed work. The funny thing was that the elevator was actually being repainted while we were there (wet paint signs up) and it still looked awful. You are much better off spending less money and staying at one of the newer hotels in the immediate area. Leia mais

It would have been great if the bathtub hadn't been so stained up and the ceiling above the stairwell was not leaking :) They have some maintenance issues, but the staff is great and the food they provided at the conference we attended was amazing! They were very accommodating for dietary restrictions.

Hotel staff was courteous and professional. Our check-in experience was great, but our room was average. Upon entering our room, the first word that came to mind was dinky. The room was quite small, but adequately furnished. Shortly after arrival, we spilled a drink on the hardwood floor. After promptly mopping it up with a hand towel and a washcloth, […] we called housekeeping to replenish our supply. Those towels never arrived. The room seemed damp. We called maintenance to check on our air conditioner while we were out to dinner. It seemed better upon return. Finally, we didn't feel as if the room was clean. The once-white curtain blew in the breeze of the air conditioner and had a definite gray filth color to it. The floor we mopped up after our spill yielded dirty towels. The bathroom door knob had some sort of crust on it. Beyond that, the hotel was satisfactory with a lovely lobby. Clayton is a quiet area. Seems the streets roll up at 5:00 every evening. Leia mais

While parts of the hotel are older, it was very well-maintained. Our room was nice and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is convenient to get to the zoo and science center as well as The Magic House. Loved the pool and free kids game room (no quarters needed!) Self-parking is only $6 a day with in/out privileges, just get your vouchers from […] the front desk. Staff was very helpful with directions. Room and pool area well stocked with towels. Nice hotel and would stay there again in the future. Friendly and attentive staff. Room was small but comfortable. Shower pressure was really low but ohter than that it was satisfactory.

The business center was at best described as poor. It had an odor and the computer and printer were outdated and not working well. The gift shop was hardly ever opened regardless of the time of day and poorly stocked with refreshments. The hallways also had an odor but not as horrific as the one in the business center. The room was fine however the […] air flow for the air conditioner/heat made it almost impossible to work at the desk as it blew the air directly on you as you were sitting at the desk. The room condition greatly exceeds my expectation. Shuttle service is very helpful for students like me. Overall it was just an incredibly wonderful experience.

Staff could not have been nicer or more accomodating. Went out of their way to show us how to navigate the hotel as it is large with different hallways and elevators to get to different parts of the hotel. While the rooms are lovely and the linens very nice, the bed was too soft and was pitted toward the center. We were on the fourth floor and could […] hear the music and feel the vibrations from an event in a 7th floor ballroom....on a Sunday night until midnite. While the staff had a great attitude this is a tired old place. Once you get past the lobby you'll see that there's a lot of deferred maintenance that has to be addressed. AC doesn't work well.

I chose this location for a weekend getaway with the little woman. It was very comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. The beds are very comfortable and fluffy with lots of pillows. I would recommend this hotel to others. Was a bargain for the price.
