Usually staying at an AmericInn is a safe bet, this particular inn did not live up to the standards that we’re used to. The woman that checked me in was lovely and very personable. We were put in a room on the first floor…which was actually in the basement (which explained why the front desk told me where the elevator was). There were a bunch of dehumidifiers down the hallway (which we took as a bad sign), our room was clean (except for the shower drain which was a little gross), but we couldn’t see out of the windows - I thought they were steamed up but it was like calcification or something. Anyway, the beds were clean so sleeping was fine. The next morning the fire alarm went off at 7am (luckily we were already awake) there was no fire, thank goodness, and I couldn’t get the tv to work.
